Grilled Balsamic Strawberries are a great way to showcase fresh berries. Who else loves strawberry season?

When it comes to fresh fruit season, I am so happy when it is time for strawberries. This is the perfect healthy grilled strawberry recipe for summer fun. You need to give this strawberry baked feta appetizer a try too.

Balsamic glazed grilled fresh strawberries for dessert.

Juicy strawberries get slightly caramelized and then drizzled with a combination of balsamic and chocolate. Simple, sophisticated, and sure to impress.

If you have not tried grilled fruit, you are missing out. This tropical fruit salsa makes you feel like you are on an island vacation. Grilled plums can be sweet or savoury. An easy dessert or side dish for pork, fish, or chicken.

I happen to LOVE strawberry season. Going to the market and getting those fresh picked berries. Better yet, going to a farm and picking them myself.

    A pile of fresh strawberries

Then there are all the delicious recipes with strawberries. Have you ever tried Strawberry Bruschetta? OMG, this is PERFECT for sitting on the patio. A great addition to the summer brunch menu. It can be used as a dessert or appetizer. This baked feta appetizer with strawberries is a must try too.

If strawberry shortcake for dessert is what you crave, how about some strawberry cheesecake popsicles instead?

Roasted fruit is great (and one I do during the winter). It works perfectly in my Roasted Blueberry Quinoa Breakfast Bowls. Need an easy and elegant dessert? Balsamic Roasted Pears are sure to please.

When grilling season is here, it’s all about cooking outdoors. This is the time for fruit on the grill instead.

    Grilled Strawberry Tips

YES, you can grill strawberries (and they are so delicious). They happen to be pretty nutritious too!

Here are a few tips to help you grill strawberries like a pro.

A pile of strawberries on skewers ready for the grill.
    • I like to use (affiliate)double-pronged stainless steel skewers. I find the fruit is less likely to fall off and doesn’t slip around when you are turning them over on the grill.
    • If you are using wooden skewers, be sure to soak them in water for about 15 minutes before placing them on the berries.
    • Try to place similar size berries together on the same skewer. This makes it a little easier for even cooking (the larger the berry, the longer time on the grill).
    • Strawberries should be at room temperature (at least I find it works better).
    • Cook on medium, and always preheat the grill before cooking.
    • Be sure to oil the grill to prevent the berries from sticking.
    • Turn the berries a few times during cooking to get nice grill marks.
    • Cooking times will vary depending on the size of the strawberries and the heat of the grill. About 3-5 minutes per side for nice big berries.

    Serving Grilled Fruit Kabobs

These beautifully charred strawberries are stunning all on their own. In this recipe, I made a simple glaze out of (affiliate) chocolate syrup and espresso balsamic.

Strawberry skewers getting cooked on the grill.

Once the grilled fruit is ready, simply drizzle the glaze over the berries. The combination of sweet berries, a hint of chocolate, and a nice hit of espresso balsamic (along with the perfect glass of white wine) create gourmet grilled strawberries perfect for summer parties.

Strawberries and balsamic go hand in hand, but it doesn’t have to stop there. You could also serve these grilled fruit skewers with some vanilla ice cream if you prefer.

Glaze ingredients, balsamic vinegar and chocolate syrup.

Another way to serve them is simply giving them a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a light dusting of icing sugar. What a great topping for pancakes these would be.

The sweetness and tanginess of the whole dish goes well with each other, and the crunch that you get at the berries emmits freshness through the dish!

Me, me, me, I adore strawberry season. It means summer is finely here. Coincidentally I just ate the first strawberry of the season from our garden. If we get enough of them I’m going to try your grilled strawberries. They sound ace.

I have never tried it. We like them warm off the grill with the balsamic drizzle. There is no reason it would not work other than the texture may change in the berries.
