Glad you stopped by….now I’m sure you would like to know a bit about me.
My name is Gloria Duggan. The blogger/influencer/photographer of Homemade & Yummy.
I’m a wife, mom, and gramma, living in Ontario, Canada. My life revolves around my family….and of course, that means family traditions….especially from my kitchen!!
Fun Facts About Me
Coming from a Ukrainian background, the ladies of the house spent many hours cooking to feed their families. Since it was a large family, get-togethers meant even more food…..and of course, all of it was HOMEMADE!!
No one was a professional chef, yet each one of them had their “specialty” dish, and the combination of those dishes made YUMMY meals.
Constantly having such wonderful foods to eat kept my interest in cooking, and today I take pleasure in making wonderful, pleasing meals for my family and friends.
As I was growing up, processed foods didn’t make their way into my home very much. Now as an adult, I realize how important that is.
Over time I have created my own style, tweaked many recipes, and along the journey I have made some of my own kitchen traditions that my family asks for again and again.
I hope you enjoy my site….and perhaps pick up a tip or a recipe that you like.
I’m not a trained chef, but rather an inspired and passionate home cook that isn’t afraid of trying new things. Sharing meals brings families together. Almost ALL holidays and special occasions are celebrated here at home….and YES the cooking is done by me.
Cooking can be so rewarding. You can taste the flavours of the world without ever leaving home. When I first started cooking I didn’t venture into anything too complicated or new.
Through the years I have cooked food from many different parts of the world. Experimenting with new flavours and spices, different wines and cheeses, exotic fruits and vegetables, are all so very exciting to me and my family.
Sometimes you might even surprise yourself and find out you really like food you wouldn’t even consider trying before.
Now that I am a gramma of 2 beautiful grandchildren, it’s time for me to create memories in the kitchen with my grandchildren … just like me and my “baba”.
Along the way, I hope to share some recipes and tips, stories, and interesting links, but most of all I hope to inspire those of you who fear the kitchen to relax and try something new. Cooking doesn’t have to be difficult and complicated, in fact sometimes simple is best.
Homemade food should be tasty, easy and satisfying. Let me help you create food your family will love!
