Strawberry season is here! This Tequila Cocktail Strawberry Basil drink is a great way to enjoy the flavours of summer on the patio.

Quickly blend up some fresh strawberries with lime juice and basil leaves. Add tequila, carbonated water, and a handful of ice. This tequila cocktail recipe is perfect for summer sipping. Try it alongside some grilled strawberries.

Woohoo, finally the HOT weather is here. What are you doing this summer season? Going away? Staycation and day trips?

We are doing the “staycation” thing. A few day trips planned, along with continuing our backyard renovations. One thing for sure, lots of BBQ parties with lots of tequila mixed drinks.

We are so happy to be outside. It was a VERY LONG winter. I cannot remember another year that I had to wear my winter coat for 6 months!! I will be happy to not have cold weather for a least 3 years. This weekend sounds like a scorcher, so time to get the ice maker working.

Ingredients ready to make a tequila cocktail.

Summer drinks are easy and fun to make. Wine spritzers, boozy iced coffees, and lots of delicious frozen drinks too. Combinations are endless. This Tequila Cocktail Strawberry Basil recipe is another delicious summer drink option.

Of course, you always need a great non-alcoholic drink to serve your guests. This refreshing watermelon juice is perfect. Great for kids too.

Strawberry season is one of my favourite times of the year. You can never have too many ways to enjoy these luscious berries. Strawberry cheesecake popsicles are in my freezer right now. The grandkids will be enjoying some delicious summer treats.

Paring strawberries and basil is a great way to enjoy some of those herbs in your garden too. Do you have a herb garden? I WISH I did. It would be so nice to clip fresh herbs whenever I need. I think I will look into this. Maybe I can put a herb pot on the fence, away from the cute (and destructive) rabbits. They have already ruined my roses!

Blended strawberry base in a glass read for the other cocktail ingredients.

Strawberry basil recipes are so delicious, especially when you combine them into drinks. Strawberry basil lemonade is perfect for sitting in the backyard, or on the dock at the cottage. Do you have a great blender? I am so happy that hubby bought me a Vitamix, and this handy single serve blender attachment is perfect for whipping up these strawberry basil tequila cocktails.

    Tequila Cocktail Strawberry Basil Ingredients

This really is a super simple tequila cocktail, that you can whip up in a couple of minutes. You will need:

    • strawberries
    • basil leaves
    • tequila
    • lime juice
    • carbonated water
    • agave nectar
    • ice

You can switch out the agave for sugar if you like. The amount of alcohol you add to your tequila cocktail is up to you. As for the basil, it can become overpowering very quickly, so experiment to suit your individual taste. Feel free to use club soda or just plain water here too. I like the fizz for a fun summer drink.

    Classic Tequila Cocktails

Have you tried a tequila cocktail? I am not sure there is a “best” tequila cocktail, but there are LOTS of great tequila cocktail ideas:

    • Classic Margarita
    • Frozen Margarita
    • Negroni
    • Paloma
    • Tequila Sunrise
    • Mojito

Which of the above tequila drinks have you tried? Do you have a favourite?

We entertain LOTS during the summer season. There is a weekend this summer that we are hosting 2 parties! Wow, what was I thinking? Oh well, we will have a fun time like always. Lots of food (hubby will be busy on the grill that weekend). Drinks will be flowing, and I just might turn this Tequila Cocktail Strawberry Basil recipe into a PITCHER version!

The perfect strawberry cocktail for the patio.

Whatever your plans are for this summer season, have FUN!!

Please drink responsibly NEVER drink and drive!

Just for fun, I asked some blogger friends to give me some of their favourite tequila cocktail recipes. You just might want to give some of these delicious tequila drinks a try.

I have to admit that I like my tequila plain and not mixed, but this seems like a great drink for those who are not big fans of tequila. Strawberry and basil is such a great summer combination.
