- water
- salt and baking powder
Easy Oatmeal Breakfast Donuts
This is a super easy baked donut recipe. Full instructions are in the recipe card.
Baking donuts is a much healthier alternative to the classic fried variety. If you can bake muffins, you can bake donuts.
Combine the wet and dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.

Fill the donut pans and bake. That’s it. You can even make these ahead of time, perfect for meal prep.
Suggestions / Recipe Tips
- If you don’t already have some (affiliate) donut pans, it’s always a great excuse to get more fun kitchen tools.
- I find using a (affiliate) large decorating tip and pastry bag makes filling the pans a little easier, but I have just used a spoon too.
- Store donuts in a container, they will keep for several days.
- You can warm them slightly in the microwave, super delicious.
- They freeze well, making them perfect for meal planning.
- Any oil will work, and you can use plain yogurt as well.

Baked Oatmeal Donuts For Breakfast
Ingredients
- ¼ cup hemp hearts
- ¼ cup pumpkin seeds
- ½ cup dried cranberries
- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoons salt
- ¾ cup old fashioned oats
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons avocado oil
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup vanilla greek yogurt
- ½ cup water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350º F. Spray donut pans with cooking spray.
- Combine greek yogurt and water in a bowl, and set aside.
- Get a large bowl and combine all the dry ingredients.
- Add the egg and oil to the water/yogurt mixture. Combine well.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and stir to combine.
- Place your large decorating tip into the piping bag.Fill the piping bag with batter.Pipe into each donut cavity.***NOTE*** If you are not piping the batter, just use a spoon to fill the cavity.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until done. You can check the doneness with a cake tester.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly and remove donuts from pan onto cooling rack.
