Since I was a kid, breakfast just has not been my favourite meal of the day. Perhaps it’s the fact that I am not one of those people who jumps out of bed ready to take on a 10k run. I have to wake up a little more on the slow side (along with at least 2 cups of coffee).

One thing I enjoy is oatmeal. When I was a kid mom always had that bag of Quaker Oatmeal in the cupboard. I recall it being the regular oats. Since then, I have graduated my taste buds to the more nutritious old fashioned oats. If I am really in the mood for a nice hot bowl of healthy oats, I will turn to steel cut oats. These seem to elevate oats to a whole new level.
Any way you choose, eating oatmeal is a great way to start your day. Healthy baked oatmeal is one of our favourite ways to enjoy it. Have you ever tried Oatmeal Breakfast Casserole?
Let’s not forget about healthy snacks. No-bake homemade granola bars are great for lunch boxes or eating on the run.

Your oatmeal donuts remind me of a south indent breakfast by the looks, whose name I forgot now. They make something similar. Now we should be able to make an effort to start the year well with these babies for breakfast. 🙂

These were great. I added chia seed and mini chocolate chips and subbed 1/2 cup real maple syrup for the sugar.
Is there any way to make them even healthier? Sub another kind of flour?
Thank you! Kids loved them!

SO glad you liked them. I’m sure it would work with a gluten free flour blend.
