    Fresh green salad with tuna is a quick and easy meal, great for lunch or dinner. Perfect for days when you are strapped for time, or don’t feel like cooking.

    Tuna on salad makes a protein-packed meal, and you can use any variety of fresh salad greens and chopped fresh veggies you like.

    Canned tuna is a staple in our pantry. So versatile, and an easy way to add protein to a meal.

    Adding tuna on salads is one of my favourite ways to make an easy meal in minutes. You can use any variety you like, from flaked light, solid white, packed in water or packed in oil. You can even get smoked canned tuna, and it is so delicious.

    This easy green salad with canned tuna can be made in minutes. If you are looking for a salad for dinner, this is a winner for sure.

    Ingredients For Green Salad With Tuna

    Super simple ingredients that are easy to find. This meal will not break the bank either. Much cheaper than takeout. Be sure to read the suggestions and recipe tips below.

    Ingredients to make a green tuna salad.
    • salad greens
    • cucumber
    • bell pepper
    • fresh tomatoes
    • olives
    • feta cheese
    • salad dresssing
    • canned tuna

    Tuna Topped Green Salad

    This healthy tuna salad with leafy greens can be enjoyed for lunch or dinner. All you have to do is chop, mix and eat. Full instructions are in the recipe card.

    • Drain the tuna.
    • Crumble the feta.
    • Chop the veggies.
    Greek green salad.
    • Add the greens and the veggies to a large bowl.
    • Add the dressing, olives and feta.
    • Toss to combine.

    • Divide the salad into 2 bowls.
    • Top with tuna.
    • Garnish (optional) and enjoy.

    Suggestions / Recipe Tips

    • Canned tuna of any variety will work.
    • Dressing can be homemade or store bought. I used Greek flavoured. Use any flavour you like.
    • Fresh salad greens are so crisp and refreshing. Romain, baby kale, arugula, spring mix, and spinach are a few tasty choices.
    • Bell peppers and fresh tomatoes are great on any salad. Feel free to add other things like zucchini, radishes, or green onion.

    • Olives add a nice layer of flavour. Green or black, either are delicious. You can also use capers.
    • Feta adds just the right amount of salt. You can use any kind of cheese you like.
    • Garnish with additional olives, cheese and freshly ground black pepper. You can also add some croutons and fresh herbs.
    • Store any leftovers in a container in the fridge. It will last about a day or two, but the greens will get a little wilted.

    Ingredients

    • 4 ounces salad greens any kind
    • 4 ounces cucumber diced
    • 4 ounces bell pepper diced
    • 4 ounces tomatoes diced
    • 1 ounce black olives sliced
    • 1 ounce feta cheese crumbled
    • 4 ounces canned tuna 1 can/drained
    • 3 tablespoons Greek salad dressing homemade or store bought
    • fresh cracked black pepper for garnish/optional

    Instructions

    • Drain the tuna and set aside.
    • Crumble the feta and set aside.
    • Wash the lettuce and place in a large bowl.
    • Wash and dice the peppers, tomatoes and cucumber and add to the bowl with the lettuce.
    • Add the salad dressing, olives and feta. Mix to combine.
    • Divide the salad into 2 serving bowls.
    • Top each salad with ½ can of the drained tuna.
    • Garnish with additional olives and feta and black pepper. ENJOY!

    Notes

    Any kind of salad greens will work. Other fresh vegetables like zucchini and radishes are great options.
    Pick your favourite salad dressing, any flavour will work.
    Any canned tuna is fine, packed in oil or water, solid or flaked. If you are using solid, you will have to flake it before topping the salad greens.
    Olives can be whole or sliced. You can also use capers.
    Garnish is optional, but additional olives, cheese, black pepper, croutons and fresh herbs are great options.
    Store leftover is a sealed container in the fridge. It will last about a day, but the salad greens will wilt.
