Suggestions / Recipe Tips
- Canned tuna can be solid or flaked, packed in water or oil. You can also use flavoured tuna if you don’t want to add additional seasoning.
- Buns or bread of any kind will work. You can also toast the bread if you like.
- Salsa of any type is perfect. Hot, mild, medium and also salsa verde is a great option.
- Lettuce can be replaced with baby kale, pea shoots, arugula or any other greens you like.
- Tex-Mex seasoning can be swapped for taco seasoning or your choice of any combination of spices you like.
- Fresh avocado works best, but in a pinch this sandwich can be made using guacamole in place of avocado. You will have to adjust the amount so the sandwich filling will not be too runny.
- Serve immediately since this sandwich will get soggy quickly.
