Suggestions/Recipe Tips
Honey can be flavoured or plain. I used hot honey on this cheese log. You can replace honey with jam.
Nuts can be any variety you like. I used honey roasted pistachios in this recipe.
Figs can be replaced with any dried fruit. Cranberries, blueberries, or cherries are great choices.
Make ahead and wrap in plastic wrap and place in the fridge. I used half of a large log of unflavoured goat cheese. Simply double the recipe to use the whole log.
Other toppings can be herbs and spices. Get creative and think outside the box.
Store leftovers in the fridge. This will last up to a week. Place in the freezer for longer storage.
Serve with crackers, or even as a spread on bagels.
FAQ’s
Yes goat cheese sold in Canada and the USA is pasteurized. It would have to be labeled as raw milk cheese if it wasn’t pasteurized.
Absolutely. The texture and flavour are just as good as eating it fresh.
Fresh goat cheese has no rind and aged less than 2 months. It is tangy, with a soft creamy texture. Ripened goat cheese is aged longer and has a crumbly texture.
