Looking for a great dinner salad? This Warm Potato Salad is full of flavour and easy to make.

A warm twist on potato salad without mayo makes a great appetizer or main dish meal. This recipe for Smoked Salmon Stuffed Potatoes is a must too.

Warm potato salad with smoked salmon and dill is the perfect dinner salad.

A creative twist on a hot potato salad. This salad with smoked salmon and a dill dressing makes a full meal. Perfect for an easy weeknight dinner.

Do you like fish and potatoes? Do you like fish and chips? Well, think of this potato salad as an upscale version. I even made this into a potato appetizer too!

We all know fish and potatoes are the perfect match. Slow Cooker Creamy Fish Soup is the ultimate comfort food.

Picture of recipe ingredients, smoked salmon, fresh dill, green onions and baby potatoes.

And since you must be a seafood lover, you have to try this Buckwheat Salad with grilled scallops too.

I am a potato lover and always will be. There are never too many ways to enjoy them. Mashed to baked, potato pancakes to crispy fries, they are all delicious. Have you tried my fish cakes recipe? These are great as a main dish, but also a fun appetizer.

The humble potato can be the star of the show too. Cast Iron Skillet Potatoes are presentation perfect.

When I was a kid, each summer we would have a huge family BBQ. The highlight of the meal (in my opinion) was the Potatoes with Green Onion & Dill.

    Salmon With Potato Salad

This salmon potato salad only needs a few ingredients:

    • mini potatoes
    • smoked salmon
    • green onion
    • fresh dill
    • butter
    • oil
    • salt and pepper

Salmon is the seafood of choice in our family. Now that grilling season is here, cedar-planked salmon will be happening throughout the summer. Homemade salmon burgers are always a hit too. I love using dill out of my garden herb box too.

    Warm Potato Salad For Dinner

This salad is so easy. Full directions are in the recipe card below.

Baby potatoes in a foil packet, dill and onions cooking in a frying pan.

Wrap some potatoes in foil and bake. Heck, you can even do this on the grill. When they are done, keep them wrapped until ready to use.

In a frying pan heat some olive oil and butter. Add some chopped green onion and lots of fresh dill.

The dressing takes minutes to make. Open the foil pack, put the potatoes in a bowl, and pour the aromatic warm dill sauce over the potatoes. Top with thin slices of smoked salmon and some fresh ground pepper. Dinner is ready.

Do you like smoked salmon? It can be used in so many ways. Great for breakfast on bagels, or as a topping on crackers or crostini.

Have you tried Smoked Salmon Cucumber Appetizer with Cream Cheese? These are perfect for entertaining. How about a super easy Smoked Salmon Salad with Cucumber Noodles for dinner?Β

If you love gourmet sandwiches, then this Smoked Salmon Sandwich is sure to please. The classic tomato and cheese just got a delicious makeover.Β

    Suggestions/Recipe Tips

Mini potatoes are great to work with. You can also regular-sized potatoes. Just cut them up before cooking. No need to peel. Bake the potatoes wrapped in foil in the oven or on the grill.

Fresh dill is best for this recipe. You can use dried, but much less is needed. Green onion can be replaced with chives.

Smoked salmon pairs perfectly with potatoes. If you are not a fan of smoked salmon, you can add some grilled salmon instead. Not a salmon lover? Try adding shrimp or chicken.

Store leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat easily wrapped in foil in a moderate oven for about 20-30 minutes.

Oh garsh Gloria!!! Don’t even get me started on the number of cookbooks I have. . .but it is way too many and I barely have space for them in my itty bitty apartment. Fortunately we will be closing on our new house soon. . .and I have to admit that I am very much so looking forward to finding a tucked away space to keep them all in (as opposed to my night stand, coffee table. . .and wherever else there is open space).

As for this potatoes and salmon. . .it looks so lovely. My hubby is a big fish and chips (and salmon fan too) fan so I am certain this would be right up his alley.

This is warm enough to be comforting, but with all the dill, it is very fresh tasting at the same time. Salmon is the perfect counterpart with it’s light, smoky flavor. I love the textures in this salad.

Oh. My. Goodness. I love the idea of this potato salad. I usually don’t care for it because of the mustard and mayo (don’t like condiments), but this I would try AND THE ADDITION OF THE SALMON…WINNER!!!!!

We love smoked salmon and I hesitate to say but I am not a fan of potato salad. Now, the potato salad I’m referring to is the one full of mayo and a sweet aftertaste. Your potato salad looks fabulous!! I really think I could dig into that and not stop until it is gone. I not only want to thank you for the recipe but for introducing me to Dennis The Prescott. What gorgeous photos and recipes. I signed up for his posts.
