    Easy Smoked Salmon Potato Bites

I love when recipes are easy to make, require minimal ingredients and look fancy. These smoked salmon party appetizers are just that. You will need:

    • mini potatoes
    • smoked salmon
    • olive oil
    • salt & pepper
    • dried dill

When it comes to entertaining, the easier the better. I like to spend time with my guests, not get stuck in the kitchen. Delicious foods don’t have to be complicated. In fact, I find the simpler the better.

Baked potatoes with sour cream is another love of mine. I also happen to love loaded potato skins. In fact, I do not know of one single potato dish I don’t love.

    • Combine fresh dill and sour cream in a bowl.

Super easy right? Told you! You can finish off this tasty appetizer as your guests are walking in the door.

You can even leave a few potatoes on their own, for the people that might not like salmon. Potatoes dipped in sour cream and dill still make great potato appetizers.

    Suggestions / Recipe Tips

    • Mini potatoes are super cute. Any colour will work. You can also use fingerling potatoes. You can cook the potatoes ahead of time, and then warm them up just before assembling the appetizers.
    • Sour cream can be replaced with Greek yogurt.
    • Seasoning the potatoes with salt and pepper is simple and delicious. You can always use a seasoning blend. Try Italian or Greek for a different taste.
    • Fresh dill is perfect, especially for garnish.

Can You Eat Smoked Salmon At Room Temperature?

Yes, but you should not leave it out for hours. I would not leave it out in the hot weather for very long. It won’t spoil if it sits at room temperature for up to an hour. Always store it in the fridge.

There are so many ways to enjoy this delicious fish. Here are a few suggestions:

I love potatoes in all shapes and forms! This is such a fun appetizer, I’d definitely have to make lots because I might eat most of it by myself before I serve it haha. I love the quick cook time for these too! Would I be able to make it the day before? I’d love to bring it to a work potluck.

Omg. Okay. First of all, I am obsessed with smoked salmon. Pairing it with dilly flavor is a classic move, but with potatoes too! That is so innovative. I’ve never seen anything like this. I usually find potatoes to mask a lot of other flavors because they’re so hearty and starchy, but smoked salmon—as delicate as it is—does a great job at standing out with it’s crave-worthy smokiness.

I need smoked salmon. Stat. 🙂

You’ve essentially put all of my favorite things into one tempting bite. I love the crispy skin you’ve gotten on the potatoes and the salmon looks positively luscious. Also, kudos for not making it overly complex in the assembly — having the sour cream as a dip instead of delicately balancing it on each individual hors d’oeuvre is sheer genius. This would be great for our next cocktail party. Thank you!
