Rum and Eggnog Latte is great to enjoy during tree trimming, present wrapping, or just to celebrate and spread some holiday cheer.

How can you resist creamy hot eggnog, bold coffee, and a splash of rum, all topped with frothed milk, and a dusting of nutmeg? The ultimate eggnog recipe for a delicious latte. Yes, it can be made non-dairy too!

Rum and eggnog latte for the holidays.

Holiday eggnog coffee is the perfect blend of sweetness and warmth. A cozy festive treat.

This spiked eggnog recipe is a holiday classic and a party favourite. Move over Starbucks, this is the best spiced eggnog coffee. It pairs perfectly with my Christmas croissant recipe.

Are you in the holiday spirit yet? My family is already drooling thinking about Christmas morning sandwiches, our family tradition for decades. Now the grandkids request them too.

If you have never tried to make a homemade latte you are in for a treat. They are super easy and budget-friendly too. Yes, you can create that super frothy foam topping easily. Don’t worry, you can make this coffee with eggnog alcohol-free as well, it is still super delicious.

Once you give this recipe a try, you will want more homemade lattes. Here are a few:

    • Festive Holiday Tea
    • Real Pumpkin Latte
    • Chocolate Milk Latte

    Spiked Eggnog Coffee Ingredients

If you do not have a fancy espresso machine, don’t fret (neither do I). You can still make this easily at home. Here is what you will need:

    • good quality eggnog
    • great tasting rum
    • *(affiliate link) instant espresso (yes that is right)
    • nutmeg
    Eggnog Lattes in Christmas mugs

How To Make A Rum And Eggnog Latte

When I say this is easy, I really mean it is super easy. Here is what you do:

    • place your eggnog in a pot and heat to just under boiling
    • make your espresso in a measuring cup
    • add some rum to a mug
    • add the espresso to the mug
    • froth the eggnog
    • top the espresso/rum mixture with the foam
    • sprinkle on some nutmeg
    • DONE!

OMG, can you believe it? So easy! I guarantee you will be making this Christmas latte a lot during the holiday season. Be sure to read the suggestions and recipe tips below for vegan and non-dairy options.

    2 homemade spiked lattes.

    Suggestions / Recipe Tips

Did you know you can make a latte with instant coffee? I know the coffee fanatics may not think this is ideal. This is a great way to enjoy lattes at home without an espresso machine.

TIP: I even make lattes with strong, bold coffee too. Do you have a Keruig? You can make espresso on demand.

Now, when making that frothy topping, I use a hand-held milk frother. It works like a charm.

Coffee with eggnog is a great pairing for the holidays. For this recipe, I used store-bought eggnog. I look for the creamiest version I can get my hands on. Yes I know, all the extra calories but it is the holidays. Feel free to use a light version if you like. If you make homemade eggnog, bonus points to you!

Need a dairy-free version? Look for non-dairy egg nog like Silk Festive Nog, or Earth’s Own Oat Nog.

      Best Alcohol For Spiked Coffees

This is where you can have LOTS of fun. Making a different eggnog latte drink by switching up the alcohol. Of course, it is perfectly fine to have non-alcoholic eggnog lattes too (remember do not drink and drive).

Some great things to add to eggnog are:

      • brandy
      • cognac
      • bourbon
      • vodka
      • whiskey
      • rye
      • rum (white, dark, or spiced)

What is the best amount of alcohol to add to your latte? Most times it is 1 to 2 ounces per drink. It depends on the size of the latte and also the variety of alcohol you are using. This is a personal preference, so I will leave it to you to find the amount that works best for you.

I even have a Boozy Bourbon Iced Coffee you may like to try. If you love the combination of chocolate and coffee, you will want to give this Chocolate Coffee Martini a try too. Just like dessert in a glass.

Looking for some great food gifts? Check out this Edible Gifts for Christmas roundup. You won’t want to miss the Boozy Bourbon Fudge recipe. It is ALWAYS a holiday hit.

You can never go wrong with popcorn balls on the treat tray. These white chocolate covered popcorn balls look like snowballs trimmed with holiday sprinkles.

      Homemade Eggnog Latte

Who doesn't love the true holiday classic? Homemade coffee and eggnog latte is great to enjoy during tree trimming, present wrapping…or just to celebrate the holiday season.

Eggnog was not something readily found in England, and we used to love watching it on ‘American TV’. But, its not something I have fully embraced as yet. I am going to try it again this year, as your recipe has me intrigued on trying it out with some Rum. Hmmm…. lovely recipe and fabulous photographs!!

Drat! I passed by the eggnog at the Walmart the other day. I said, “Self, no way you are buying that this year.”

Looks like I lied. Hmm…. Thanks a lot! LOL I blame you.
