All that fruit looks so refreshing in this hot weather! We’re out of strawberry season now (which boggles my mind – we’d have just started it back in NY) but I’ll keep that combination in mind!

I was recently talking to a bartender who was trying to come up with complimentary flavors for seasonal cocktails and I mentioned strawberry and basil being a classic combination. We talked about infusing it with gin, but I’m totally digging this tequila-based slushie. Definitely a winner on a 90° day!

Strawberry and basil is one of my favorite summer combos, especially for drinks! I love the pairing between the sweet-tart strawberries, and that little hint of pepperiness from the basil. So unique and refreshing. Of course, a splash of tequila never hurt either! lol. What a great cocktail for entertaining this summer!
