Suggestions/Recipe Tips
Coffee needs to be strong. As I mentioned cold brew is a great choice. This martini can be made without espresso. Ground espresso beans in a drip coffee maker work great. Chocolate coffee pods are wonderful. In fact, for this recipe, I tried instant espresso to see if it would work, and it did.
Chocolate liqueurs come in many varieties. Pick your favourite. For this drink, I used a chocolate raspberry liqueur.
Vodka comes in many flavours. I used plain in this recipe. Experiment with some flavoured options and create your own special cocktail blend. Grab some coffee vodka for an extra coffee kick.
Garnish to make it special. I used dark chocolate shavings on top of the foam. Rim the glass with cocoa, or add a chocolate covered strawberry to the rim.
FAQ’s
Vodka produces a smooth taste. Gin has a botanical taste. It is a personal choice and what you like.
Shaking is the key. Shake for 15-30 seconds to properly aerate and be sure to pour the drink immediately into the glass.
