Are you excited about Summer? Pool parties, BBQs, going to the cottage on weekends? If summer entertaining is your thing, this Wine Spritzer Bar makes entertaining fun and easy.

Don’t worry, I also have this watermelon juice recipe that is non-alcoholic. Perfect for kids too.

This is a sponsored post for Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Wines. I have been monetarily compensated, all opinions are my own. PLEASE ENJOY WINE RESPONSIBLY.

Summer weather is HERE! In Canada, we just had our first long weekend of the season. It started raining but ended beautiful and sunny. I  got my flowers planted, visited the Farmer’s Market, and spent some time sitting in the backyard enjoying the weather.

Summer weather brings with it, BBQs and outdoor parties. Celebrating everyday moments with family and friends, eating lots of great food, and backyard entertaining is what summer is all about. Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Wines makes pairing everyday meals with wine easy.

Wine Spritzer Bar and DIY Entertaining

Parties are always fun. Lots of food and drinks for everyone. When it comes to summer entertaining, I like to keep it simple, the less stress the better. I like to spend as much time with the guests as possible. Setting up self-serve food and drink areas makes things flow so much easier.

We had a little get together with a few friends for a sushi night. Instead of wine, we decided to try a Wine Spritzer Bar so the guests could help themselves. Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Wines makes this a breeze. With the great selection of white wines to choose from, there is wine for everyone to love.

Do you have a favourite white wine? We enjoy several varieties and cook with wine all the time. In fact, just recently I made an asparagus soup with Sauvignon Blanc. Whether you enjoy wine on its own, or paired with food, Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Wines has a great selection to choose from. Fruit-forward, smooth and balanced, perfect for entertaining. Be sure to visit their website for more information on their wines, food pairings, and recipe ideas.

If you really want to WOW your dinner guests, classic sabayon is sure to impress. Gourmet desserts are easier to make than you think.

Wine Spritzer made with White Zinfandel Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Wines.Pin

For our Wine Spritzer Bar we decided to serve crisp, refreshing Pinot Grigio (with aromas of nectarine and peach), and light, versatile White Zinfandel (with hints of citrus and juicy red fruit). Of course, you can certainly use any of their delicious wines you like. All wines are good in my book. Have a few to choose from, your guests will have fun creating their own wine spritzer recipe.

Items For A Great Wine Spritzer Bar

    • Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Wines (Pinot Gris, White Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc)
    • Variety of mixes (club soda, tonic water, sparkling lemonade, ginger ale, carbonated water etc.)
    • Frozen fruit (berries, grapes, pineapple)
    • Citrus wedges (limes, lemons)
    • Fresh Mint (and even Basil)

Close up of the items of the Wine Spritzer Bar, and wine getting poured into a glass.Pin

These are just a few suggestions. Think outside the box and come up with a few of your own ideas. This is one of those “recipes if you will” that is delicious many different ways. Place all the items on a table along with some glasses and let your guests help themselves.  One thing to note wine spritzers taste best when both the wine and mix are very cold. Frozen fruit works well here. You can use ice cubes too, but I find it waters down the drink too much.

How To Make A Wine Spritzer

Do you need a recipe for a wine spritzer? Not really. Of course, I will give you a recipe below. This is the fun part of a Wine Spritzer Bar. You are the master of your own creation. Decide on a variety of wine, type of mix, ratio, and if you would like to add any fruit. You can make it different every time. This is a great way to try some new wines, and spritzers are the perfect hot weather drink.

Take a glass, pour in some wine, add some mix, put in a few pieces of frozen fruit (or squeeze in some lime and drop in some mint leaves), take a seat and ENJOY! Wine spritzers are easy and fun to make, and delicious to drink. Perfect for patios, and BBQ parties. Summer entertaining should be easy, and with this Wine Spritzer Bar and the help of Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Wines, you just might find your guests asking “When is your next party?”

    Notes

This is just a guide line. The ratio of wine to mix is up to you. That is the beauty of this drink....YOU decide.
Frozen fruit works great (I prefer it over ice).
Club soda, and carbonated water are great if you are looking to cut some calories and sugar. If you use ginger ale, sparkling lemonades or carbonated  juices, both the calories and sugar content increase.
Although I have only talked about using white wine, feel free to experiment with red wine. They make great spritzers too.

That is such a great way to enjoy wine. I’m not much of a wine drinker, so this is just perfect because I can go with higher ratio of soda to wine and my wine loving husband can make it the other way around. This is just perfect for summer parties.

I love spritzers and these wines sound so heavenly. We have more white wine spritzers in summer because it’s so hot and humid here. This is so refreshing.

What an awesome idea for summertime entertaining. Who doesn’t enjoy a lovely wine spritzer? We sure do and I really love the options you have provided, so each person can create their own spritzer according to their own likes and tastes. The sun is shining right now and has got me thinking about getting the makings to do a spritzer bar for weekend guests. Thanks for the great post!

Now that the weather is warmer and we are spending almost all our time for meals eating outdoors these are the kind of beverages we look forward to. Like the lime mint flavors here.
