Save yourself some calories and all the mess of deep-fried food. These are the best air fryer french fries. They produce a cleaner taste with minimal oil.

Are you a potato lover? I AM, and so is my daughter. Her favourite is potato salad, a must at her birthday celebration each year.
I love crispy cast-iron potatoes. The perfect side to brunch or dinner. Spicy potato wedges are great too.
If you are looking for the ultimate casserole, Sweet Potato Au Gratin is it. Scalloped sweet potatoes covered in a cream sauce, topped with cheese. YES, please!!
Now, when it comes to french fries, these are in a league all their own. Crispy, golden brown and soft in the middle.
Covered in ketchup, salsa or gravy. The perfect side to burgers and fish. NEVER eaten with a fork, unless you are eating Canadian poutine! These are the best crispy fries we have eaten.
Air Fryer Fries With Minimal Ingredients
Not many things are needed for these easy homemade fries.
- fresh potatoes
- oil (I used avocado)
- spicy seasoning
- salt ( I used smoked sea salt)
The best way to get all the crunch without all the oil is by using an air fryer. Deep-fried french fries, certainly are an occasional treat. This crispy homemade fries recipe is the perfect alternative. Now we can enjoy them more often.
I have some AWESOME air fryer recipes:
How To Make Spicy Fries
- Wash and cut your potatoes into sticks (you don’t even have to peel them).

- Cook in the the air fryer.
Did you get that? 1 TABLESPOON of oil to make these quick and easy spicy fries in the air fryer. How healthy is that? Added BONUS, clean up is a breeze.
I can cook a batch of fries in about 22-25 minutes. If you are feeding a crowd, no problem. Heat your oven to a nice low temperature, and keep the batches warm while the rest are cooking.

I’ve yet to try homemade fries in the air fryer! I really need to give that a go because these sound awesome and I don’t use my air fryer nearly enough. I tried the oven once… and for homemade fries, that’s just a big NO. Lol.

I am addicted to fries. I have never met a potato that I didn’t like and fries are my weakness. I have been wanting one of these air fryers for some time and this recipe just made me realize that I NEED one. I can’t believe you make fries that beautiful with 1 TBSP. of oil. Avocado Oil is my favorite to use too. These are going to be a hit.

How many cooking things does one person need? Apparently one more! Because those fries look awesome and the thought of being able to enjoy crispy fries without all that oil is a compelling argument. And great ideas for seasoning variations. I want to try them all. Buffalo wing seasoning and some blue cheese? Yum!
Homemade & Yummy
ALL the seasonings work for sure.

ARGH these air-fryer recipes are KILLING ME! I mean, not in an unhealthy artery-clogging way – certainly not when compared to regular frying. I mean they’re making me want to do all kinds of fried food recipes (because I love them), but I’m trying to resist the temptation to actually go out and buy an air-fryer. But my resolve is weakening… and these might be the fries that break the camel’s back. They look absolutely perfect, and I love the spiced touch that you’ve added – especially the doubling down on smoke with the salt and the paprika!
Homemade & Yummy
Well you might as well bite the bullet and buy one. Once you taste these fries (and other delicious recipes) you won’t regret it.
Tammy
I have been on the fence about getting an airfryer for such a long time now because I already have so many kitchen gadgets but honestly can you really ever have too many? ;D Either way, these fries look fantastic! Maybe for the holidays I’ll finally bite the bullet and get one ^_^
Homemade & Yummy
I think you should for sure put this on your “Christmas Wish List”.
Melissa
These look delicious Gloria!! I’ve wanted the ActiFry since it came out but Santa seems to skip it every year (lol) guess I’ll just have to spoil myself to be able to make these yummy fries!

I think to need to talk to Santa…and give him an update!!

Wow just looking at these you have me wishing for them. You had me at spicy! I’m a huge sucker for all things spicy. these look amazing!
Homemade & Yummy
You can make them as spicy as you like….so good!

Haha! My husband also rolled his eyes when I got my ActiFry a few years ago. We barely use it now. Alan loves his fries in inhuman servings so even one batch isn’t enough. But when we used it originally, it was so good and delicious! Maybe I’ll make the fries again soon, I haven’t done so in a while.
Homemade & Yummy
My hubby LOVES these…and is happy we got another “cooking thing”. Dig it out and give these a try…just make a crowd sized batch!!
Veena Azmanov
