The perfect fall topping. Great on pancakes, yogurt, ice cream and more. This spiced apple compote only takes a few ingredients.

apples
(diced)

cinnamon

nutmeg

butter

tablespoons
maple sugar

ounces
water
Instructions
Peel and dice the apples and place in a bowl.
10 ounces apples
Combine cinnamon and nutmeg and add to the apples and toss to coat.
1 teaspoon cinnamon,
⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
In a pot over medium heat, combine the butter and maple sugar.
2 tablespoons butter,
2 tablespoons maple sugar
Cook until sugar is melted.
Add the spiced apples to the sugar/butter mixture along with the water.
2 ounces water
Bring to a boil, reduced heat and cook until the apples are tender.
Remove from heat to cool.
Place in sealed container and store in the fridge.
